Venture Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 18) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Weston Ranch Cougars 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The team relied heavily on David Mays, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Roman Stewart, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Venture Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Weston Ranch, they moved to 4-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Venture Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 win against River Islands on the 24th. As for Weston Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Ripon Christian on the 22nd.
