Recap: Friends' Central vs. Germantown Friends
Even though Germantown Friends scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Friends' Central still came out on top. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Germantown Friends is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Friends' Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sumeer Allenye led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Muhsin Muhammad, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Friends' Central and bumps their season record up to 14-4. As for Germantown Friends, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Friends' Central will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Chi-Prep Academy at 1:15 p.m. on January 27th. As for Germantown Friends, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Solebury at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Solebury's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
