Basketball Recap: Rockbridge County Takes a Loss

Rockbridge County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They came up short against the East Rockingham Eagles, falling 65-42. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 51-21 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Rockbridge County lost, don't look at Abby Bouchard. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Rockbridge County dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Rockingham, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Rockbridge County Wildcats challenge the Stuarts Draft Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Rockingham, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Madison County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Rockingham has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three games.
