Soccer Game Preview: Darlington vs. South Florence

Darlington hasn't had much luck against South Florence recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Darlington has given up an average of 4.3 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Darlington managed to keep up with Crestwood until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Falcons lost 6-0 to the Knights. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Darlington's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, South Florence had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They blew past the Gators 4-0. Considering South Florence have won four games by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lakewood with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mohammed Kamate (2), Tyler Hughes, and Giovanni Hernandez.

South Florence pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five matchups. As for Darlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Darlington came up short against South Florence in their previous meeting back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
