League recap: University City scores huge upset over Christian

The biggest upset of the week belonged to University City, who took down 354th ranked Christian, 32-31. Kyle LeBlanc threw for three yards, ran for 92 yards and caught one passes for 44 yards in the win.

The Centurions moved up to 588 from 666 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central. University City climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Patriots 32-31.

Eric Perry's team's dynamic duo of Dominic Lewis and Devante Pritchett proved tough for Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lewis threw for 134 yards and one touchdown and Pritchett had 53 yards receiving.

Matt Halvorson was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 188 yards on 16 carries as Coronado topped Matt Oliver's team. Jake Shepherd also contributed to the rushing game with 140 yards on the ground.

Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Michael Carrillo has thrown for 1144 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Phillip George has 32 catches for 419 yards. Rayvon Owens leads the league in rushing with 1049 yards.

A big matchup in Central this week will be when University City takes on Clairemont. The Centurions are in second place, while the Chieftains are in third place.

University City made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,749 from 8,983. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 32-31 victory over the Patriots last week.
