Preview: Stansbury Stallions vs. Jordan Beetdiggers
Stansbury is 1-0 against Jordan since September of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Stansbury Stallions will be playing at home against the Jordan Beetdiggers at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Stansbury's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Jordan has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Stansbury strolled past Tooele with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. Stansbury pushed the score to 41-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Tooele cut but never quite recovered from.
Coleman Dearden was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Ferry, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Jordan made off with a 14-13 win over Hillcrest. The win was just what Jordan needed coming off of a 55-30 defeat in their prior match.
Jordan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wilson Numbers led the charge by rushing for 112 yards on only 14 carries. Bo Williams did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Stansbury to 6-4 and Jordan to 3-6.
Everything came up roses for Stansbury against Jordan in their previous matchup back in September as the team secured a 40-8 victory. Will Stansbury repeat their success, or does Jordan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
