Softball Recap: Franklin Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Franklin won the last time they faced North Henderson and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Knights. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Suzanna Cabe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Franklin let Ashlyn McConnell and Layla Maloy run wild. McConnell got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Maloy went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Franklin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Franklin's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for North Henderson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against West Henderson on the 29th. As for North Henderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Rosman on the 30th.
