Softball Recap: Whitefish Bay's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Whitefish Bay had lost four games at home, but after bumping their record up to 6-10 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Grafton Black Hawks a 4-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Blue Dukes have won by exactly four runs.

The result came thanks to Abby Fay's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jane Wallace, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

As for Grafton, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Grafton's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Weishan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Coming up, Whitefish Bay will face off against Cedarburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grafton, they will take on Nicolet at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Hawks are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
