Baseball Recap: Shelton Comes Up Short

Shelton extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 3-5 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Haven Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-4 defeat on Saturday.

As for West Haven, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 29, 2024.

For West Haven's part, Brady Price was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that Price has scored this season. Jose Padilla was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Haven beat Shelton by a score of 6-4 later that day.
