Madras and Estacada are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The White Buffaloes will head out to take on the Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madras has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Wednesday, Madras came up short against Crook County and fell 11-6.
Dasen Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Bentley Stockton, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Estacada hadn't done well against The Dalles recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rangers came out on top against the Riverhawks by a score of 7-2.
Connor Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake Barger, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Paul Ables was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Estacada has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Madras, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Madras suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Estacada in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the White Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
