Edwards County won the last time they faced Newton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lions skirted past the Eagles 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Edwards County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 27-25, 15-8.

Grace McCarty paced Edwards County's offense, picking up eight kills. McCarty got some help from Alice Robb and her 18 assists. Robb also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jenna Shaw, each putting up two.
