Volleyball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Starts Season with Win Against Northampton County + How To Watch

Roanoke Rapids had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Northampton County Jaguars. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 17-25, 25-17.

Roanoke Rapids' offense was headlined by Makenna Whitley and Zoey Thomas, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Annaleigha Hudson and her four assists. Whitley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Roanoke Rapids has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Franklinton on the 19th. Hopefully Northampton County paid attention to the Yellowjackets' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
