Football Recap: Alma Takes a Loss

Alma had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They were outmatched by the Greenbrier Panthers and fell 56-27. The Airedales were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-20.

Several Airedales players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Jackson, who picked up 173 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jackson showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 58 yards. Jay Lemieux was another key player, having thrown for 305 yards and three touchdowns.

As for Greenbrier, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Considering they have won five matchups by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Enoch Assan, who rushed for 198 yards and five TDs on only 13 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 198 rushing yards. Jack Palmer was another key player, throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes.

Alma wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 40-0 victory against Clarksville on the 24th. As for Greenbrier, they have also already played their next game, a 49-16 win against Pea Ridge on the 24th.
