Basketball Game Preview: Poland Seminary Bulldogs vs. Lutheran East Falcons

The Poland Seminary Bulldogs will face off against the Lutheran East Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Poland Seminary is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took down Chippewa 55-40. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 41-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chipps cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Lutheran East had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 92-45 victory over the Pirates. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Poland Seminary better focus on containing TJ Crumble and Tyrone Harrison as the pair were huge in Lutheran East's win. Crumble dropped a double-double with 30 points and 18 boards, while Harrison dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten steals. With that strong performance, Crumble is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Zeigler, who posted ten points.

Poland Seminary is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. Lutheran East's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.
