Basketball Recap: Redwater's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Redwater won the last time they faced De Kalb and things went their way on Friday too. The Redwater Dragons snuck past the De Kalb Bears with a 59-53 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Redwater got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braelan Morgan out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave Morgan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquez Jones, who went 9 of 19 en route to 18 points and four steals.

Redwater smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Redwater's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-17. As for De Kalb, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Queen City the next time they take the court. Redwater will host Queen City at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while De Kalb will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
