Baseball Recap: St. Bonaventure Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

St. Bonaventure waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bishop Diego Cardinals as they made off with a 12-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Tuesday.

Aaron Byrd was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Collin Barker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Byrd wasn't the only one making solid contact: St. Bonaventure kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for the Seraphs: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.

St. Bonaventure's record is now 11-7. As for Bishop Diego, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Bonaventure will welcome Moorpark at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Diego, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thacher at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
