Recap: Spencer Greenwave vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons
The Spencer Greenwave can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 78-44 win over Academy for Classical Education. The victory was nothing new for Spencer as they're now sitting on six straight.
Leading Spencer to victory were Izaian Rosegreen and Gary Gaither. Rosegreen dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Gaither scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and eight assists. That's the first time this season that Gaither posted eight or more assists. Joe Dozier was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Spencer pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.89 points. As for Academy for Classical Education, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cairo at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Cairo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Academy for Classical Education, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
