Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mishawaka Marian

Mishawaka Marian waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Culver Academies Eagles by a score of 53-44. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Mishawaka Marian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Owens out in front who went 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Owens has posted since back in March of 2024. Brandon Foster was another key player, going 7 of 11 en route to 17 points and four steals.

Mishawaka Marian's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Culver Academies, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mishawaka Marian will host South Bend Riley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mishawaka Marian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. As for Culver Academies, they will square off against Fort Wayne Canterbury at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
