Softball Recap: Reading Comes Up Short

If Reading was riding high fresh off their 20-5 takedown of Mariemont on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils came up short against the Mercy McAuley Wolves on Tuesday, falling 16-6. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

MJ Graham and Brooke Androne did some serious damage despite the final result: Graham went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Androne went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Mercy McAuley, their record is now 13-11.

Looking ahead, Reading will head out on the road to challenge Wyoming at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mercy McAuley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Turpin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
