Basketball Game Preview: Abbeville Panthers vs. GREEN Upstate Owls

The Abbeville Panthers will head out to take on the GREEN Upstate Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Abbeville has four straight victories, GREEN Upstate has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Abbeville humbled South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind with an 86-14 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Hornets are ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Corde Hadden went supernova for Abbeville, going 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamiyus McManus, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, GREEN Upstate didn't have quite enough to beat McCormick on Tuesday and fell 58-56.

Abbeville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for GREEN Upstate, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
