Football Recap: Midtown Knights vs. Creekside Seminoles

Midtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 56-12 loss at the hands of the Creekside Seminoles. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.

Creekside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ced Kelley out in front who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also caught a touchdown. Those 89 rushing yards gave Kelley a new career-high. Cayden Benson was another key passer, throwing for 177 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Midtown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Creekside, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Midtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Creekside, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on November 15th. Creekside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Harris County likes a good challenge.
