Bishop England had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Beaufort Eagles on Friday as the Bishop England Battling Bishops made off with a 70-48 victory. The Battling Bishops have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Bishop England got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lisse Van De Erve out in front who went 9-for-15 en route to 20 points and four steals. Van De ErVe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Allen, who went 9-for-17 to rack up 21 points and eight rebounds.

Despite the loss, Beaufort saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jania Hayward went 6-for-13 on her way to 20 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Hayward a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (56%). Savannah Lanham also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Bishop England is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. With the defeat, Beaufort broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-9.

Bishop England didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-37 loss against Lower Richland on the 26th. Beaufort does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
