Basketball Recap: Devine Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Devine entered their tilt with Pearsall on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Mavericks 52-36. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-30 on January 6th.

Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Ovalle, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Devine's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Pearsall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 19 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Devine is set to square off against their familiar foe Floresville at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pearsall will take on rival Somerset at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
