Basketball Recap: Devine Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Devine extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kyrie Dubose. The Warhorses / Arabians strolled past the Pearsall Mavericks with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 52-36 thanks in part to Dubose, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 26 points and seven rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Karsyn Deleon, who posted ten points and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Devine's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 10-12 when she doesn't).

Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Ovalle, who earned four points and six boards.

Devine's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Pearsall, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

Devine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 40-37 win against Floresville on the 3rd. As for Pearsall, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-40 loss against Somerset on the 3rd.
