Basketball Game Preview: Waterford Ravens vs. St. Joseph Jayhawks

The Waterford Ravens and the St. Joseph Jayhawks will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waterford will be strutting in after a win while St. Joseph will be coming in after a loss.

Waterford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 48-11 victory over American Prep WV. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-2.

Waterford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Jones, who posted eight points. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anne Howard, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph came up short against American Heritage on Tuesday and fell 38-28. The Jayhawks have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Joseph's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Waterford, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
