Preview: Potter-Dix Coyotes vs. South Platte Blue Knights

The Potter-Dix Coyotes will look to defend their home field on Friday against the South Platte Blue Knights at 7:00 p.m. Potter-Dix has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 391 points over their last seven contests.

Last Friday, Potter-Dix was able to grind out a solid victory over Garden County, taking the game 36-28.

Brayden Kasten went supernova for Potter-Dix, picking up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.

Meanwhile, South Platte humbled Banner County with a 54-14 victory. The result was nothing new for South Platte, who have now won three matchups by 40 points or more so far this season.

South Platte got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryer Wilson out in front who rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Treytan Romero, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Banner County to a paltry 142 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to South Platte's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Jarrette Schwartz and Wilson who racked up four sacks between them.

Potter-Dix's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for South Platte, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Potter-Dix has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 233.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like South Platte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 176.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Everything came up roses for Potter-Dix against South Platte when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 81-28 victory. Does Potter-Dix have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Platte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
