Baseball Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Franklin County's offense. They came up short against the Sequatchie County Indians on Friday, falling 10-0. The Rebels just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Franklin County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert (Gus) Gardner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Elijah Dorrell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Sequatchie County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County will take on Giles County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sequatchie County, they will host Whitwell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
