Lewie Woody was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Klayton Burgess, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Parke Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Terre Haute North Vigo came up short against Decatur Central on Friday and fell 5-2. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tyler Lawson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Dean, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Parke Heritage's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Parke Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455.
