Basketball Recap: Rune Busenitz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Credo over Piner

Credo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 59-47 to the Piner Prospectors.

Credo's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rune Busenitz, who posted 18 points. That was a full 38.3% of the Gryphon's points, marking the third time in a row Busenitz has earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Surya Carroll, who had 13 points.

Credo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Credo will be taking part in a tournament against Sonoma Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piner, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Maria Carrillo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
