Baseball Recap: Cyprus Comes Up Short

Cyprus entered their game against West Jordan on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pirates came up short against the Jaguars, falling 12-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pirates, who until this contest were averaging 4.06 runs allowed.

Cyprus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Densley, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Brady Dean also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Cyprus and nudges their season record down to 13-5. As for West Jordan, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

While Cyprus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
