Basketball Game Preview: Los Altos Conquerors vs. Colony Titans

The Los Altos Conquerors will face off against the Colony Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Los Altos will be strutting in after a victory while Colony will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Los Altos strolled past Temple City with points to spare, taking the game 64-48. Given the Conquerors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Rams are ranked 709th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Colony's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alta Loma.

Los Altos will need focus on slowing down Fende Thomas, one of several Colony players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points. Carter Johnson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Colony smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Los Altos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points per game. As for Colony, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Los Altos was able to grind out a solid win over Colony when the teams last played last Monday, winning 59-48. Will Los Altos repeat their success, or does Colony have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
