Softball Game Preview: Ogemaw Heights Falcons vs. St. Louis Sharks

The Ogemaw Heights Falcons will square off against the St. Louis Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ogemaw Heights has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ogemaw Heights is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 11-6 to Shepherd.

Caleigh Brindley was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagen Agren, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, St. Louis earned a 6-1 win over Beaverton on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Paige Luneack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Kenadie Henry and Olivia Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Henry went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Brown went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Henry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Leonard, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.

St. Louis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaverton struck out 16 times.

St. Louis' victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Ogemaw Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
