Henderson had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Kilgore on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Kilgore, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-18.

Coming up, Henderson will take on Carthage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Kilgore, they will challenge Gilmer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Buckeyes' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
