Basketball Recap: Brenham Comes Up Short

Brenham lost against Rudder back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Brenham Cubs were beaten by the Rudder Rangers 56-27. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Rangers are ranked 286th).

When it comes to explaining why Brenham lost, don't look at Antyianna Lang. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Lang is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jalaya Hancock, who put up seven points.

Brenham dropped their record down to 11-20 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Rudder, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-11.

Brenham has already played their next match (against Lake Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rudder has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Montgomery.
