Volleyball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

After flying high against Memphis Home Education Association on Monday, Covington came back down to earth. The Chargers lost 3-0 to the Lausanne Collegiate Lynx on Tuesday. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Lynx recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Covington was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-20.

Ava McCalla paced Covington's offense, picking up 18 kills. McCalla got some help from Caroline Cole and her 22 assists.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Lausanne Collegiate, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Covington will head out to take on Millington Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lausanne Collegiate, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Hutchison at 6:30 p.m.
