Volleyball Game Preview: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals

The Monterey Trail Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Monterey Trail sitting on three straight victories and Laguna Creek on eight.

Monterey Trail is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Pitman.

The victory didn't come easy: Pitman scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Laguna Creek made easy work of West on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Laguna Creek walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-19.

Laguna Creek pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. As for Monterey Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Monterey Trail might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Laguna Creek in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
