Basketball Recap: Providence Prep Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Providence Prep couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 65-56 to the Immanuel Christian Warriors on Thursday. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Immanuel Christian was led to victory by Carlos Acu?a and Jayson Chang. Acu?a dropped a triple-double with 14 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists, while Chang to rack up 18 points and five boards. Acu?a is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 20 games he's played. Noah Ayala was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

Providence Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Immanuel Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-13 record this season.

Providence Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Immanuel Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-49 victory against Trinity Christian Academy on the 22nd.
