Basketball Recap: Colby Takes a Loss

Colby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marathon Red Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 47th).

Colby's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Marathon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colby won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marathon, they will be home for the holidays to greet Assumption at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Assumption's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
