Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Lakes). They took down the Patriot Pioneers 76-62 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Seahawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

When it comes to explaining why Patriot lost, don't look at Elijah Gaskins. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 17 on his way to 24 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Gaskins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Madrigal, who posted nine points.

South Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Patriot, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

After both having extra time off, South Lakes and Chantilly will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Patriot, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-55 win against Battlefield on the 20th.
