Basketball Game Preview: James Lick Comets vs. Hill Falcons

James Lick hasn't had much luck against Hill recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The James Lick Comets will be playing at home against the Hill Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

James Lick will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Overfelt, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. James Lick came out on top against Overfelt by a score of 80-69 on Friday.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Hill over Yerba Buena in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Hill strolled past Yerba Buena with points to spare, taking the game 63-44. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Aztec Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

James Lick better keep an eye on Gurshan Singh. He was instrumental in Hill's win, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. Nicolas Huerta was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

James Lick's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points over those games. As for Hill, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
