Basketball Recap: Crescenta Valley Starts Season with Win Against Vasquez

Crescenta Valley took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 78-70 victory over the Vasquez Mustangs.

Vasquez's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daeron Bankett, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 20 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Noah Rowley was another key player, shooting 73% from the field en route to 18 points and four steals.

Vasquez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Crescenta Valley and West Ranch will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Vasquez, they and Camarillo will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
