Basketball Recap: Lake Creek Comes Up Short

Lake Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Lincoln Tigers 66-39. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Tigers are ranked second).

Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ar'Jayla Elder led the charge by putting up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanae Dallas, who posted 12 points.

Lake Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Lincoln, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.

Lake Creek will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on College Station at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Lincoln, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Vilonia at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
