Soccer Game Preview: Evergreen vs. Palisade

The Evergreen Cougars will square off against the Palisade Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Evergreen will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Palisade better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Evergreen's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Evergreen really gets things going. The Cougars never let Air Academy get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Evergreen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Air Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lucia Spungin, Gianna Weiner, and Cameron Wedding.

Meanwhile, Palisade came up short against Dakota Ridge on Saturday, falling 6-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Palisade were already down 4-0.

Evergreen's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five games. As for Palisade, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6-3 record this season.
