Softball Recap: Decatur Comes Up Short

Decatur lost against Hartselle back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Decatur Red Raiders lost 20-1 to the Hartselle Tigers.

Josey Hendrix was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last eight matches.

Decatur dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hartselle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Decatur will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Albertville at 4:30 p.m. on March 17th. As for Hartselle, they will square off against Oak Mountain at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Oak Mountain: 2.5, Hartselle: 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
