It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Aniak had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Akiak Thunderbolts by a score of 2-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Halfbreeds, who have now won eight matches in a row.

Gavin Smith paced Aniak's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith also shared the team's lead in assists with Corrin Morgan: they picked up five each. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Aniak's win bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Akiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

As of now, neither Aniak nor the Thunderbolts have any future games scheduled.
