Softball Recap: Garfield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Garfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Seattle Prep Panthers with a sharp 7-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Sammy Breckenridge's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Washington, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lissie Hogan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Garfield's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Seattle Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

As of now, neither Garfield nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
