Football Recap: Keyport/Hudson Regional Raiders vs. Monmouth Regional Falcons
After flying high against Keansburg last Saturday, Keyport/Hudson Regional came back down to earth. The Keyport/Hudson Regional Raiders fell 28-21 to the Monmouth Regional Falcons on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 28-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.
Tyler Gustafson had a dynamite game for Monmouth Regional, rushing for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave Gustafson a new career-high in rushing yards. Jaylin Reeves also helped out with an impressive 124 receiving yards.
Keyport/Hudson Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Monmouth Regional, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
As of now, neither Keyport/Hudson Regional nor Monmouth Regional have any future games scheduled.
