Recap: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Oak Hill Academy Raiders
The Leake Academy Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 68-48 margin over Oak Hill Academy. The win was nothing new for Leake Academy as they're now sitting on six straight.
Leake Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marleigh Myers, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Anna Morgan Young was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Leake Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Oak Hill Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.
Leake Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wayne Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Wayne Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. As for Oak Hill Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canton Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Canton Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Oak Hill Academy is ranked 47th).
