Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lyford). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Progreso Red Ants a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Red Ants recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Lyford pushed their record up to 8-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Progreso, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coincidentally, Lyford and Progreso will both be playing Santa Rosa the next time they take the field. The Red Ants will host the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
