After a string of four wins, Clay Center's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Buhler Crusaders by a score of 4-3. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Clay Center saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Pladson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 8-3. As for Buhler, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

While Clay Center had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
